Poseidon Cyklon LP Hose. Used for connecting 2nd stage Poseidon Cyklon regulator to 1st stage Cyklon. If you have an early model Cyklon 2nd stage, you might find that the threads on the LP hose may no fit a newer model Cyklon. In which case you will either need an adapter or this new LP Hose with the updated threads.

Not only unique in style, durability, reliability and longevity, the Cyklon is also unique in the type of hose used to connect to the 2nd Stage.  This hose LP UNF 3/8 Hose is used to connect the Cyklon Second Stage regulator to its First Stage.  The connection point between the Cyklon Second Stage and the hose is of a unique design and is not the same as most conventional Second stage regulators currently manufactured, so this hose is not appropriate for non-cyklon regulators.

Inspection and Use of Miflex Xtreme LP diving hoses
Miflex Xtreme LP diving hoses are high performance hoses which are lighter and more flexible than traditional diving hoses. Just like carbon fibre has advantages over steel, carbon fibre performs differently and must be cared for and used differently than steel. Likewise, careful use and inspection is critical to the safe use of your Miflex Xtreme LP diving hose.

While in storage, or during transport of your hoses to or from storage, your hoses could become damaged in a number of ways. Never use your hose as a carrying or hanging handle for the tank. Before every dive, carefully inspect your hoses for damage, wear and tear. Pay particular attention to the area near the fittings. If your hoses show any sign of wear, no matter how slight, immediately replace the hose.
During a dive, and unknown to you, your hoses could be caught on sharp rocks, twisted or subjected to other stresses. After every dive, carefully inspect your hoses for damage, wear and tear. Pay particular attention to the area near the fittings.
Never leave your hoses dangling with any regulator installed, especially when they are without pressure. Always secure the hoses to your jacket with hooks or straps, but leave sufficient freedom for movement. These hooks or straps should be fixed directly to the regulator, or close to the hose fittings. Never secure your hose in a manner which could constantly flex or bend in the same location (i.e. create a “hinge effect”). Continuous bending at the same pivot point will shorten the life of your hose.
Never over-flex your hose. Never fold the hose back onto itself. If your hose is too long, you may loop it and secure it in place with a section of rubber tubing (such as the inner tube of a bicycle tire). However, the minimum bending radius must be at least 3.5 times the outer diameter of the hose. For example, if the outer diameter of your hose is 12mm, then the minimum bending radius (as measured to the inside of the hose) is 42 mm. Never allow the weight of your air tank to impact or rest on any part of your hose. To prevent personal injury and damage, install the low pressure hose ONLY into a low pressure outlet of the first stage regulator

Inspection Tips

• Never cut your Miflex hose and reconnect any type of fitting to the hose. The hose will suddenly and unexpectedly fail at the fitting.

XSTREAM 1ST STAGE

• The first stage is a balanced rolling diaphragm ball valve producing extreme leak tightness. Conventional designs are sensitive to wear, misalignment, and manufacturing precision. A ball always finds its correct place.
• Combined with the 2nd stage, the enormous capacity of the 1st stage make the regulator meet the EN 250 breathing performance requirements even at as low as 16 bar (232psi) cylinder pressure. This means that you gain an extra 34 bar (493 psi) of gas compared to most other regulators!
• The Xstream construction requires less o-rings than any other regulator. Except for sealing the blind screws (3-4), there is just 1 sealing o-ring (semi-static) in the bottom mounted versions and 2 in the side mounted.
• The hose routing is developed to be optimized for a redundant system, using two regulators. The HP ports are positioned to accommodate the use of gas monitoring computers e.g. first stage mounted HP sender/receive units

XSTREAM 2ND STAGE
A number of features greatly improve safety and ease of use:

• If debris has degraded the function of the exhalation check-valve, it can easily be reached and corrected by just twisting off the diffuser. It is the only part which needs to be disassembled, and if it gets lost during the operation, the regulator will continue to function but must only be used for immediate ascent.
• In case of a malfunction in the 1st stage causing excessive intermediate pressure, the safety valve integrated in the1st stage will bleed off the excessive gas. This system both indicates to you that something is wrong so that you can take action, and because of the up-stream servo-valve technique, allows the regulator to continue to breath normally.(conventional downstream regulators are likely to free-flow in such a situation).
• Integrated surgical hose fixing points safely secures the regulator to the diver, but in an emergency allows a distressed buddy to retrieve the regulator without undue stress to the diver.
• The dead air space is low at just 49.5 ml (3 in3) making CO2 figures (hypercapnia) minimal. Inhalation resistance is incredibly low and unaffected by depth and breathing pattern.
• Because of the unique Poseidon valve technology, there is no need for external adjustments.
• Xstream is fitted with the new ergonomic mouthpiece Poseidon AIR, with asymmetrical lugs for the most comfortable bite.
• All diaphragms are protected so that a strong current or using a scooter or tug does not affect either inhalation or exhalation.

CYKLON - EVEN MORE EXPERIENCED THAN YOU...
A regulator must possess a set of functions which are unaffected by the different environments it will see during its lifetime. Examples of these functions include inhalation resistance, exhalation bubble distraction, noise and leak tightness – to name just a few. Different environments such as cylinder pressure, diving attitude, depth, temperature, gas, type of water, the diver can have an effect on these functions.

When a new regulator is released on the market, it has to pass the EN 250 test. This test represents one single environment; the manufacturer may have managed to test perhaps another hundred such situations, which is good but not necessarily enough. Only after years and years of actual use by divers around the world will the manufacturer collect all the information which can guarantee a perfect performance under all circumstances. This of course, takes time...

The Poseidon Cyklon Junior was introduced in 1958. In small steps, it has been gradually improved every year, based on both divers’ experiences and technological evolution. And so it continues.

CYKLON - EVEN MORE EXPERIENCED THAN YOU...
A regulator must possess a set of functions which are unaffected by the different environments it will see during its lifetime. Examples of these functions include inhalation resistance, exhalation bubble distraction, noise and leak tightness – to name just a few. Different environments such as cylinder pressure, diving attitude, depth, temperature, gas, type of water, the diver can have an effect on these functions.

When a new regulator is released on the market, it has to pass the EN 250 test. This test represents one single environment; the manufacturer may have managed to test perhaps another hundred such situations, which is good but not necessarily enough. Only after years and years of actual use by divers around the world will the manufacturer collect all the information which can guarantee a perfect performance under all circumstances. This of course, takes time...

The Poseidon Cyklon Junior was introduced in 1958. In small steps, it has been gradually improved every year, based on both divers’ experiences and technological evolution. And so it continues.

Envoy II Octopus

High performance with free-flow control

The economical Envoy II octopus is the same internally as the ZX 2nd stage, but does not have the adjustment knob or the heat exchanger. The Envoy II Octopus has a Venturi Control Lever that allows the diver to set the octopus 2nd stage in the Pre-Dive position until needed.

This is very important in Octopus regulators, since the Pre-Dive position is much more resistant to Venturi-Free-flows that can sometimes result in significant air-loss during a dive. The Envoy II Octopus comes with a Yellow cover and 36" hose.

F8 Octopus

High performance with free-flow control

Lightweight high-performance second stage with a free-flow control. Also includes a heat sink and has and adjustable cracking pressure.

This is very important in Octopus regulators, since the Pre-Dive position is much more resistant to Venturi-Free-flows that can sometimes result in significant air-loss during a dive. The F8 Octopus comes with a Yellow cover and 36" hose.

• New inhalation diaphragm provides superior tear strength and improved response time to breathing (super soft silicone molded over a low friction disk).
• Improved exhaust valve ensures dryness and a lower exhalation effort.
