US Water Rescue LLC (USWR)was created to fulfill several needs. First and foremost, the business provides its clients with top-notch customer service in dive training and scuba equipment sales for the the Search and Rescue Diver (Public Safety Diver or Underwater Crime Scene Investigator) and Public Safety Dive Teams around the country. USWR also serves U.S. Water Rescue Dive Team, a non-profit group of highly trained Public Safety Divers, PSD Tenders, Swiftwater Rescue Technicians, and medical personnel who provide water safety education & awareness and water rescue & recovery services to requesting agencies.
Montana Dive Tech(MT Dive Tech) is a division of USWR that provides recreational and technical dive instruction and equipment. PADI is our primary certifying agency for recreational scuba training. TDI is our primary training agency for technical scuba training and certification.
Shane Weinreis is the owner of USWR LLC & MT Dive Tech, he is also the President & Dive Officer for the US Water Rescue Dive Team. Shane’s childhood love of water had him swimming at every chance in the local pool, lake or river and enticed him to take his first SCUBA certification course in 1986.
“I can still remember one of the first open water dives where I had limited visibility and lost everyone on the dive. I was a little nervous, not knowing where I was, which way to go, or what was beneath or around me,” he said. “But I was still having fun breathing underwater.” Training methods and equipment have changed quite a bit since then.
Shane served six years with the Marine Corps. Among his duties were being a Rescue Swimmer, a Helicopter Rope Suspension Training Master, Hostage Rescue Team, and an EMT. He became a PADI Master SCUBA Diver Trainer, IDC Staff Instructor, and eventually a TDI Technical Instructor and an ERDI Public Safety Dive Instructor. While stationed in Japan, Shane owned / operated a dive store and helped others enjoy the beauty of the underwater world. Deep diving quickly became his favorite activity.
After the Marine Corps, Shane joined a Public Safety Dive Team and began his 15 year career in law enforcement. He has served as a SWAT member, Field Training Officer, Defensive Tactics & Ground Fighting Instructor, Background Investigator, and a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
He continued to teach recreational diving, but started to focus more on technical deep diving .“Tech diving is not for everyone, but for the adventurous divers willing to take it to the next level, Tech diving not only enhances your diving knowledge and skills, it opens the doors to another world,” he said.
“It is our desire to see that all PSD Teams and Technical Dive Teams succeed and go home after the job is done,” Shane said. “In order to help achieve this success, we are here to help teams choose the best dive equipment for their specific needs and provide the top notch training they need to start or enhance their teams PSD capabilities. We offer PSD course / certifications from USWR , PADI, and ERDI. Our expertise in the Public Safety Diving field comes from years of training and 15 years of conducting live rescue and recovery missions in all types of conditions, environments, and locations.” US Water Rescue Dive Team has been operating since 1997 and has served numerous local, state, and Federal Agencies.
US Water Rescue / MT Dive Tech carries a wide variety of scuba equipment for the beginner or advanced recreational diver, fire or police diver, PSD diver, military diver, and technical diver. We also carry a full line of products for the water rescue technician. Products are continually being updated and added to our website.
